Mean-Spirited Christianity?

Posted by: on Apr 29, 2012 | One Comment

Jesus said that the primary way to recognize Christians would be by their love for each other. Truth be told… there seem to be a lot of people who wear the title “Christian” but have behavior that seems to go the complete opposite of what Jesus said a Christian should look like.

By this shall all [men] know that you are My disciples, if you love one another [if you keep on showing love among yourselves].

John 13:35 [AMP]

The sign of a true follower of Jesus Christ is love. So why then are so many churchgoers known for how mean and critical and spiteful and nasty they can be?

Could it be that they are devoid of spiritual fruit?

Could it be that they are just religious nuts?

If so… it may be that they are in for an unpleasant surprise should they fail to wake up and get right before they get left!

22Many will say to Me on that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name and driven out demons in Your name and done many mighty works in Your name?

23And then I will say to them openly (publicly), I never knew you; depart from Me, you who act wickedly [disregarding My commands].

24So everyone who hears these words of Mine and acts upon them [obeying them] will be like a sensible (prudent, practical, wise) man who built his house upon the rock.

Matthew 7:22-24 [AMP]
