Quite often, we read Isaiah 53:4-5 and think of healing of our physical bodies. But Jesus also provided emotional healing when He died on the cross.
I grew up in a church tradition where people would bawl and squall… snot and slobber… shout and kick the back out of the pew while begging God to answer their prayers. I have since learned that there is a better way.
Whatever is bothering you… whatever is taking your sleep away… whatever is driving your blood pressure upwards… whatever seems an insurmountable obstacle… you can’t handle it yourself. Take it to the throne of Almighty God (who loves you more than you could ever comprehend) and let Him deal with it.
God allows tests and trials into our lives in the same way that a coach has his players practice to the point of exhaustion. Or the way a platoon sergeant may have his troops march until they are ready to drop. It is not about being mean. Rather, it is to prepare them for greater challenges ahead.
